On April 15, 2023, during the Navy League of Canada National Annual General Meeting, CPO2 Gael M. Maramot, of RCSCC John Travers Cornwell VC, was awarded the National President's Award as Royal Canadian Sea Cadet of the Year.
The Manitoba Division of The Navy League of Canada announced the 2023 Division Royal Canadian Sea Cadet of the Year as CPO2 Gael M. Maramot and the 2023 Division Navy League Cadet of the Year as CPO2 Isaac Ogunnaya.
The Manitoba Division 2023 Annual General Meeting will be held virtually Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 0900 to 1200 hours. Volunteers wishing to serve on the Division should submit their nomination forms no later than March 31, 2023.

On April 17, 2021, during the Navy League of Canada National Annual General Meeting, LCdr Kevin Daeninck, of RCSCC John Travers Cornwell VC, was awarded the National President's Award for his many years of dedication, service and volunteering as a CIC officer with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet program.
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of one of the Manitoba Division’s former Presidents. Mr. Norm Sparks passed away on October 14, 2020. Mr. Sparks was a Sea Cadet in Manitoba during the 1960s and was a long serving Navy League of Canada member. Mr. Sparks served as Cornwell Branch President between 2005 - 2006 and then as Manitoba Division President between 2007 - 2009.
Plans are underway to resume both the Navy League Cadet and Sea Cadet programs. Per the National Navy League and the commander of National Cadet and Junior Rangers Support Group directives, the earlies the programs can resume are October 1, 2020. Your Division, Branches, Commanding Officers and DND are working to ensure that the return is as safe as possible. Your Officers will be in contact with you once plans are finalized. The Navy League of Canada, Manitoba Division Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020 starting at 9:30 AM. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, this year’s meeting will be held via videoconference. We have chosen to keep this year’s meeting brief and limited to voting members, namely Council members (members of the Executive, Branch Presidents, or their designates, and Life Members).

On April 25, 2020, during the Navy League of Canada National Annual General Meeting, Mr. John Jamieson, of the Cornwell (Winnipeg) Branch, was awarded the National President's Award for his many years of dedication, service and volunteering with the Navy League of Canada.
The Manitoba Division of The Navy League of Canada announced the 2020 Division Royal Canadian Sea Cadet of the Year as CPO1 Andrew Puttenham and the 2020 Division Navy League Sea Cadet of the Year as PO1 Abigail Donaghy.
The Manitoba Division of The Navy League of Canada held their second annual Awards Dinner at the West Kildonan Legion on Saturday, October 26, 2019. At the dinner awards were handed out to Division members who had reached milestones in their years of service to The Navy League of Canada, including one new Life Membership. In addition to those amazing volunteers, one Distinguished Service Award, three Meritorious Service Awards and two Awards of Appreciation were handed out. Also, for the first time in a while, the Manitoba Division Branch Member of the Year, Manitoba Division CIC Officer of the Year and Manitoba Division Navy League Officer of the Year awards were handed out.
The Manitoba Division of The Navy League of Canada awarded the 2019 Division Royal Canadian Sea Cadet of the Year to CPO1 Bailey Farr and the 2019 Division Navy League Sea Cadet of the Year to CPO2 Spencer Pearce at their respective Annual Ceremonial Reviews in June 2019.
The 2019 Annual Inspection (AI) dates for each of the Manitoba Navy League Cadet Corps and Annual Ceremonial Review (ACR) dates for each of the Manitoba Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps have been announced.
The Manitoba Division's Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Irish Association facilities in Winnipeg. The Division Council, Corps Commanding Officers and honoured guests, Ms. Brenda Pinto, National Sea Cadet Chair, VP The Navy League of Canada and Maj Erin McKinlay, OIC NE Area RCSU (NW), participated in this annual event to review the year’s activities, discuss upcoming activities and goals, and to elect an Executive for the upcoming year.
Northwest Cadets released a series of eight short videos entitled “I am a Sea Cadet”. In five of these videos Manitoba Sea Cadets are featured. Each video is only 1-4 minutes in length, so take a few minutes and see what it takes to be a Sea Cadet.
The Manitoba Division of The Navy League of Canada held their first annual Awards Dinner at the West Kildonan Legion on Saturday, November 17, 2018. At the dinner awards were handed out to Division members who had reached milestones in their years of service to The Navy League of Canada, including five new Life Memberships. In addition to those amazing volunteers, awards were given to the four members of the Sea Cadet Centennial Planning Committee who went above and beyond, contributing their time and skills, to help make the Sea Cadet Centennial Celebration in June an outstanding success.
On Saturday, June 16, 2018, Manitoba’s Royal Canadian Sea Cadets, in conjunction with the Manitoba Division of The Navy League of Canada, celebrated their 100th year of serving the youth of Canada. This day-long celebration started in the morning with the Freedom of the City Ceremony at Winnipeg City Hall. In the afternoon, Royal Canadian Sea Cadets and Navy League Cadets, from all of Manitoba’s Corps, marched down Broadway to the Manitoba Legislature grounds where they participated in a Centennial Celebration Ceremony. In the evening a reception was held at the Fort Garry Hotel for the dignitaries; while Alumni of the Sea Cadet program met at the Osborne Legion to reminisce. The 2018 Annual Ceremonial Review dates for each Navy League Cadet Corps and Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps have been announced.
Help us celebrate 100 years of Sea Cadets in Canada on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1430 hours (2:30 PM) at the Manitoba Legislative Grounds. Cadets from all seven Manitoba Sea Cadet Corps and all three Manitoba Navy League Cadet Corps will be participating. Further details can be found on the Manitoba Sea Cadets Centennial Celebration website (http://centennial.mbnavyleague.ca). Be sure to tell your friends and family about the event. We would like to see as many former cadets and officers of the Manitoba Sea Cadets Corps as possible in attendance.

National Cadet and Junior Canadian Ranger Support Group (Natl CJCR Sp Gp) is conducting a national survey of former cadets to determine the success of the Cadet Program in imparting the intended outcomes of: 1) Emotional and Physical Well-being, 2) Social and Cognitive Competence, and 3) Proactive citizenship. This survey runs from September 27 through November 17, 2017, so please take time to participate.
At a formal ceremony on Saturday, September 16, 2017, the 2017 Hubbell Awards were presented to nine Manitoba cadets in the Manitoba Room of the Manitoba Legislative Buildings. These nine cadets, two Sea Cadets, two Army Cadets and five Air Cadets, were chosen from over 40 applicants. The two Sea Cadets receiving scholarships this year were CPO1 Rilley Howells and CPO2 Rheanne Millet, both members of RCSCC John Travers Cornwell VC.
Retired Captain (N) William H. Wilson, O.M.M., C.D., who is a past Manitoba sea cadet, officer and Navy League member, was recently honoured for a lifetime of commitment to the Royal Canadian Navy when a plaque in his honour was unveiled at the Naval Museum of Alberta, in Calgary (See the September 9, 2017 Facebook post by Commander Royal Canadian Navy.)
